The Best Nest

We have a robin building its nest in the window sill of our bedroom. I think I will let it stay so we can watch the eggs and baby birds over the next few months. This should be fun!

Keira, the author

Keira is so very proud of the 23-page book she wrote and illustrated entitled "On the Way to Grampa's and Granma's Haus." She wrote the story and sketched the pictures on Thursday, illustrated it on Friday, edited Friday night and Saturday, then put the finishing touches on her illustrations Saturday night.

She's already planning her next book which will be about our trip to Disneyworld.

This was a good end to her Spring Break.

Princess Keira?

This morning, I told Keira that we are going out to lunch today and will see her friends Gabby and Rory. She indicated that she wanted to wear the flower barrette that Gabby gave her (from their trip to Hawaii). After I put the barrette in her hair, she put her arms in the air and declared, "I princess!"

I guess my ruse of telling her that I need to comb her hair and put in bows so she will look like a princess is working far better than I thought :)

"I need eyeglasses"

On Sunday night when I was putting Keira to bed, she was reading a story to herself and told me "I need eyeglasses." I explained to her that her eyes are special and don't need glasses yet to read books like Mommy, Daddy, Nana Pam, Nana Janet, and Papa. That explanation appears to be sufficient as she continued reading "The New Baby" book to her doll Betsy.

I guess eyeglasses are cool when everyone you look up to has them and you don't. She felt kind of left out. So cute!

Keira sings her ABC's

Click HERE for a video of Keira singing her ABC's. She can sing it by herself but this video was much cuter than the one by herself (you will see why...just watch). [Note: You must log in to Facebook to watch]

These boots were made for walking!

Keira got some boots on Friday from Kohl's. At the store, she did not want to even try them on, but once Ryan got them on her she wanted to keep them on and in fact wore them out of the store and home. Once we got home, she needed a diaper change and so Ryan went to take the boots off of her. She cried and cried so as soon as her diaper was changed, Ryan put the boots back on her. The catch was that she wouldn't let him put her pants back on so she was walking around in her shirt, diaper, and brand new boots! Here's a more demure picture of her fully dressed and ready to go to playgroup today.

Pickles and Ice Cream?

No, we're not talking pregnancy here, but Keira does enjoy eating both pickles and ice cream at our favorite eatery Jason's Deli. Here's proof!

Holy Cow!

Tonight Keira and I were in the bathroom brushing her teeth before bed. The toothpaste fell off the shelf when I grabbed for it and the noise surprised me so I said "Holy cow!"

Keira replied, "Moo."

Yes, she knows her animal sounds quite well! Even the holy animals :)

Just being cute!

I thought Keira looked adorable tonight and just couldn't resist taking some pictures. She now says "cheese" and smiles at the camera when I tell her to say it. She is getting so big!
While Daddy is out of town on a business trip this week, we have been having a fun time together. We went to playgroup at the library this morning, and out to dinner with Ellen at Jason's Deli tonight. We, of course, had ice cream cones. Yummy!

Look ma, your shoes!

Keira was very proud of herself this afternoon when she decided to try on my shoes.

Smarty pants on a cell phone

Caught some cute pictures of Keira "talking" on her cell phone. Smarty pants!

Yes, she already know what to do with a cell phone at 16 1/2 months old. We're in trouble...
