Bahama Mama (and Da Da, too)

On Saturday, I booked a 6-night trip to the Bahamas in August for Ryan and I to attend a friend's wedding. Yes, I said Ryan and I... Little Miss Keira will be staying home with Grandma and Grandpa while Ryan and I are gone.

How do I feel about leaving my 21-month old child for 6 nights? A little fearful, but also a lot excited! It has to happen at some point, right? And it's not like there aren't telephones in the Bahamas. Ryan and I talked about going for only 4 nights, but whats two more if you've already been gone for that long. We talked about taking Keira along with us, but a 21 month old in a hotel room for 4-6 nights = not fun! We talked about Grandma and Grandpa coming along, but that's not quite as romantic. So it was officially determined that Grandma and Grandpa will come down to our house at least one day before we leave and then spend the entire week enjoying some alone time with their granddaughter.

I think they will have a really fun time with Keira, and Ryan and I will have a really fun time without Keira. Sounds perfect, right?

We will be staying at an all-inclusive resort with 122 feet of white sand beach! Yummy food and relaxing beach time, what more could a mom ask for?
